Do we have separate waiting rooms for sick patients?

If you need to be seen in the office, please know that we have separate waiting rooms and examination rooms for sick and well patients. Offering separate facilities for well patients will provide the best safeguards for patients, doctors and staff. There is ample space in each waiting room to allow for social distancing.

Is Bay Area Family Physicians still open?

As we all struggle through these unprecedented times, Bay Area Family Physicians wants you to know that we are here for you. Through our 30 years in this community, we’ve remained a constant healthcare partner with our patients. Please know that we continue to remain open and are now offering Telehealth services (video visits through a smart phone) to be sure to provide access for all of your patient needs. You have our commitment to continue to provide the services that you have grown to depend upon.

Communication

Every shift change of our nursing staff is accompanied by a “handoff” – a brief conference designed to make sure the incoming nurse is fully up to speed on the patient’s condition and needs.

Hand Hygiene

Basic hand washing is an essential part of staying on guard against infection. Employee training on this important step is refreshed frequently, and employees are taught to remind one another if they slip. As a patient, you’re encouraged to remind doctors and nurses if you don’t see them practice careful hand hygiene.

Time Out

Our staff uses a “Time Out” safe-surgery checklist to reduce the risk of errors. Bay Area Hospital physicians and nurses always ask and answer three simple questions before conducting any invasive procedure.

Speak Up

We encourage you to become an active participant in your own healthcare, by helping eliminate potential mistakes. If you don’t recognize a medication being administered, please question whether it is the correct medication prescribed by your physician.
