Read about how we are making improvements and view our Hospital ratings on our CQC update webpage. We are keen to hear views from patients and public to help shape the future of local health services.

Are there any appointments available in East Kent?

We will endeavour to provide you with a choice of appointments that are convenient for you. However, it is important to remember that we have hospitals across East Kent and some appointments are only held at a particular hospital and you may have to travel to that site. We are re-opening some hospital services carefully and safely.

The hospital follows state and national laws to protect patient rights. Members of the Pastoral Care department visit patients and their families offering spiritual counseling. We offer a variety of support groups options for patients and family members. Thank you for choosing Kent Hospital for your health care.

What time does the outpatient appointment office open?

Outpatient Appointment Booking office opening hours Monday to Friday 8am – 7.30pm, Saturday 8am - 3.45pm.*. *Please refer to important notice board for any changes to opening hours. Please note: Calls to our Outpatient Appointments Booking Office are recorded for quality and training purposes.

How to book an appointment with the NHS?

Most services are available via NHS e-Referral Service. You can choose the date and time of your appointment and your GP may be able to book your appointment there and then. However, you have the right to think about your choices, compare different options and book your appointment at a later stage. If so, you’ll be given an appointment request letter, which includes your unique booking reference number (UBRN), NHS Number and a list of hospitals or clinics to choose from. In addition you’ll be given a password, which allows you to book your appointment via NHS e-Referral Service either over the phone using the Telephone Appointments Line (TAL) 0345 608 8888 or online at https://www.ebs.ncrs.nhs.uk/login

Can we reopen every hospital?

As current Government advice is to maintain distance between people wherever possible, we will not be able to re-open every service straight away and we need to make sure there are not too many people in the hospital at any one time.

Can an outpatient appointment be a medical advice?

Please remember the Outpatient Appointments Booking office manages appointments only and cannot give you medical advice.

How to get CNME to send notifications?

Step 1: Log in to MyChart. Step 2: Go to "Account Settings" and click "Communication Preferences". Step 3: Under "Health" deselect emails and/or text messages for test results. CNme does not currently push portal notifications to your phone or device.

Can you see your results on a patient portal?

Yes. Only you (and those you have permitted access to your patient portal, known as a Proxy) will be able to see your results.

Can you get your test results through portal?

Because most all your visit notes, including progress notes, discharge summaries, procedure notes and other clinical documentation as well as most testing results will now be available through you portal. Testing results will be released to you promptly once they are finalized, therefore you may receive notification of your results before a provider has had a chance to review them.

Can you request corrections to your medical chart?

Electronically request corrections and/or additions to portions of your chart. For example, you can make changes to your medication list, which your doctor will then review and accept into your official medical record at your next visit.

Can you see your test results before you contact your health care team?

Because this is a new way of sharing information, you may see test results before your health care team has had the chance to review the result and contact you. Additionally, you’re going to be getting these results as soon as they are final when your care team may not be immediately available for questions.
