How do I sign up for the Health Information Management Portal?

Parents and caregivers of younger patients should contact our Health Information Management team at 717-531-1697 to sign up for portal access (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays).

Stay in touch with your care team

Have a question for your doctor? You can send non-urgent messages to your care team and get a response within two business days. myPennMedicine can also be used to request referrals, read after-visit notes from your doctors, and refill prescriptions.

Schedule visits and check in online

Need to make a physician or lab appointment? We make it easy to find and schedule an option that works for you. You can even complete some check-in steps online before your visit (such as verifying your address, allergies and current medications) or join an electronic waitlist so that you can be notified if an earlier appointment becomes available.

Access and share your health information

myPennMedicine lets you easily and securely share your Penn Medicine health information with other providers. You can also link your accounts with other health care organizations that you see for care, so that you can view more of your health information in one place.

Get test results and notes from your doctor

myPennMedicine lets you access your test results online when they become available. You’ll even be able to access past results individually and graph your progress. myPennMedicine also offers easy access to notes written and shared by your care team during your outpatient visits.

Pay your bill online

You can securely pay your bill online at myPennMedicine.org or with the myPennMedicine app. This feature lets you pay your Penn Medicine provider or hospital bills, review your payment history and statements, and send secure messages directly to customer service regarding bills or payment.

How to join the Health Portal?

If you registered during your office visit, you should receive an email "invitation" to join the health portal. The link in this email message will take you to your registration information. If you do not see the message in your email inbox, you may want to check the junk or spam folder to see if it is there.

Can parents get a copy of medical records from Penn State?

As always, parents and guardians can contact their family physician to discuss their child's medical situation, and can contact Penn State Hershey Medical Records office to obtain paper copies of medical records by providing proper identification.

When is consent required for a patient?

parents of patients up to age 14 - consent from the child is required after their 14th birthday if they do not wish to have their own account, but provide the parents with access. See next question for details.

Can Penn State Hershey's electronic medical record be accessed?

As we expand use of our electronic medical record system to all of our outpatient practices, more of your records will be available to you electronically. If you have been an inpatient or Emergency Department patient at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, those records will be available to you online. Currently, My Health shows only selected parts of your medical record. Remember that your personal Penn State Hershey care providers can discuss any medical issues with you, including those not currently accessible in My Health.

Does Penn State have lab reports?

Most lab test reports will be available online for you to view as they are released. Only tests performed at Penn State lab facilities will appear in your electronic health record.
