Can a child enroll in a hospital after 18?
No, after an enrolled child turns 18, the child’s information automatically drops off the parent’s patient portal account. The child will need to enroll as an adult by signing up in person, with photo ID, at his or her care provider’s office.
Can I make appointments with and send messages to any Methodist Health System care provider through the patient portal?
Clinic and hospital staff can confirm if you can make an appointment or send a message to a particular provider. When scheduling appointments through the patient portal, available providers’ names will display on a drop-down menu. When sending messages, available providers’ names will display in a search field.

If an individual other than the patient is picking up requested medical records, then that individual will need an original signed authorization letter from the patient stating that he or she has permission to pick up the records and a photo ID.
Do Methodist hospitals have to release medical records?
Methodist Health System Hospitals and Clinics are required under state and federal laws to obtain a complete and properly executed Release of Medical Information form before they may provide a copy of a patient’s records to anyone. In the event the patient is unable to execute the authorization, the patient’s legal representative may authorize the release of information.
